Nifty50
Today, 18-01-2024, India VIX fluctuated between 13.9 and 15.6 which is a wide range while we speak about India VIX. As expected, Nifty opened near 21400 and went as low as 21290. On the upper side, Nifty tried to fill the gap and returned from 21540. Nifty IT was stable although the financial sector was weak. This helped Nifty from going further down. Like yesterday, HDFC bank is the greatest loser today in both Nifty and Bank Nifty indices. HDFC bank alone pulled Nifty 100 points down and Bank Nifty 440 points.
HDFC Bank support zone is 1460-80. HDFC bank is near this support zone and is considered as a healthy correction after the results. Now we should think about a reversal in HDFC bank and the short term target shows 1590-1600 using Fibonacci retracement tool. If the US markets and Nifty IT remain stable, this will help the up move in Nifty and Bank Nifty.
If Nifty goes beyond 21300, next important support is placed at 21100-130. If Nifty stays above 21500 and goes above 21560, we will see momentum upside.

Bank Nifty Future
Bank Nifty opened 570 points down today and it shed 2500 points in two days. At some point Bank Nifty recovered all the points and showed an uptrend. After the opening of the European market, it came down again. Bank Nifty future is trading on the support of 45850 now. Double bottom ‘W’ pattern(positive) emerges in Bank Nifty future. If Bank Nifty future holds it, target may be 46450. New uptrend starts above 46450. Bank Nifty Future is negative below 45650.
