Pre Market Analysis of Bank Nifty and Nifty for 24-01-2024

Nifty opened gap up today with 140 points gain. After 10 AM, we saw a sharp fall in all the indices including Nifty50, Bank Nifty and Finnifty. Nifty50 index has fallen 550 points from the top and closed at 21238. Next important support is 21100-130. 21350 acts as resistance now. I expect a bounce from 21100 in Nifty. Incase Nifty breaks the 21000 mark, we will see more selling pressure. FIIs are selling while retailers still have some puts sold. We may see some fall again in the first half to force the retailers to exit their position and then a positive bounce. India VIX is at 14.85, up by 7.6% which indicates fear in the market. Midcap Nifty also showed a sharp downfall and did not recover.

Bank Nifty future shed 1200 points with breaking the support of 45600-650. It is currently on support – 44900. 44450 is the important support in Bank Nifty while 44650 will act as the major resistance upside.
